He was born in Ciudad Real. At the age of 8, he discovers his vocation for music and starts his musical studies at the Conservatory of Music of Granada, obtaining the First Prize "End of Career" and the one for Chamber Music, as well as the "Manuel de Falla" Prize at the University of Granada. He alternates his musical studies with the ones in Philosophy at the University of the same city.

It was in 1970, after an audition with the Viennese Pianist Paul Badura Skoda, when the latter invites him to continue his studies in Vienna under his direction. He will end up living in Vienna for the next 22 years. It was precisely in Vienna where Arnales discovers the German Lied and focuses his career, that he had begun as a soloist, on accompanying singers. The soprano Katia Ricciarelli invites him for the first time to the Konzerthaus in Vienna, in the Cycle "Great Masters". Starting from this moment, he begins to receive invitations with the world´s most prestigious singers, such as Alfredo Kraus, Ruggero Raimondi, Christa Ludwig, Edda Moser, Renata Scotto and Inva Mula among others.

Arnaltes performs with these stars of Music in the most important cities and concert halls worldwide: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Vienna (Musikverein), Paris (Salle Gaveau), Berlin, Scala of Milan, Opera House of Zürich, Tokyo, Osaka, London (Covent Garden), Venice, etc.

His participation in the Festivals of Salzburg, Aix en Provence, Granada, Vienna, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, etc. as well as his recordings for European TV Channels and Record labels (Polygram, Capriccio, Bongiovanni and others) place Edelmiro Arnaltes among today´s first figures in the world for his specialty.
